Green Stories from the Red Zone

Stories inspired by the years of terrorist violence in Peru. The first story, "El Barranquino," narrates the life of a young man on the threshold of youth and in search of a future, who upon joining the Army distinguishes himself through his personal qualities, becoming a great fighter and dying anonymously, as many young people do who fulfill their duty of service to their homeland. The second story, "La patrulla," describes the organization formed by that Peruvian youth, who not only fight against Sendero Luminoso but also against the rugged geography, the harsh climate of our territory, and ever-present death. The third story, "El tuco," the enemy that Peruvian youth must face, is the story of an Andean family involved with Sendero Luminoso that struggles to be honest, watching two of its children fall into the web of terror — one convinced, the other dragged in by the circumstances of life.
