Peru. Between Two Fires
This publication by Amnesty International forms part of Amnesty International's global campaign for the international protection of human rights. It recounts real cases that took place on Peruvian territory in the early 1980s, when terrorist activity was at its peak. It describes explicitly how journalists, peasants, and others were killed, as well as other ways in which human rights were entirely violated. Information on prisoners and human rights violations comes from Amnesty International's Research Department, based in London. No member, Group, or Section is responsible for providing information about their own country, nor are they in any way responsible for the activities or statements of the international organization regarding their country.
