The Least Risk Was to Die. Step by Step the Peru Hostage Crisis
ESAN, with the publication of this book, wishes to pay tribute to the Peruvians and foreigners who, with sacrifice and courage, were held hostage during the painful incident that took place at the residence of the Japanese ambassador in Lima. Peru and the world lived through dramatic moments that will serve as a reflection and as an example of what insanity could not achieve, and where reason, rationality, and solidarity prevailed. What occurred will stand as a symbol of the triumph of democracy and the enduring values of our civilization over violence, intimidation, and senselessness. This is one of the reasons driving ESAN to publish the book by Dr. Dany Chávez López who, with objectivity and analytical reflection on the right to development, presents the unrepeatable experiences lived during those difficult 126 days.
