Peru 1980... The Incessant War
Opinions and analyses about the current war in Peru, offered by witnesses and actors from different political positions and with different perspectives, have or can have value in contributing to its outcome. In this sense, the content of this book is not neutral or impartial. The author, on the contrary, has sought passionately, and imbued with the highest love for Peru, to present elements of judgment that help the democratic system, pacification, and the development of the country to prevail. Nevertheless, also passionately, he has striven to be objective, acknowledging successes, dismissing concealing stances, and pointing out errors and deficiencies. And from a perspective of commitment to Peru, he puts forward proposals that, to some degree, may contribute to the triumph over the insurgency. (Excerpt from the foreword).
