Senderismo vs. Mariáteguism. The Debate Between Amauta and El Diario

In 1989, the newspaper "Amauta" noted that the ideological struggle, like no other form of struggle, cannot be separate from the war process that tends to cover the national scene. For that reason they took on the materials from the discussions held throughout 1989, which cover various topics that do not follow a pre-established order but rather respond to the contingencies of political action and journalistic work; these testimonies were considered valuable and highly useful for achieving an understanding of the complex situation the country was experiencing that year. It was with that vision that the decision was made to make the effort to gather articles from Amauta published in 1989, grouping them into thematic areas accompanied by an analytical text on "Gonzalo Thought" that is the author's responsibility. Most of the articles are by the undersigned. In cases where authorship belongs to other individuals, the appropriate mention has been made. (Excerpt from the introduction).
