More About Shining Path
At the end of 1981 we published, under the title "El PCP – Sendero Luminoso," a historiographical pamphlet on the origin, theory, and tactics of this political organization of the Peruvian left. More than 4 years have passed, during which time writers, journalists, and politicians, inside and outside the country, have addressed the subject with different criteria; in many cases removed from objectivity and overloaded with class perspectives, more visceral than reasonable, and in others with undisguised distortion. It happens that our initial approach retains its validity: the PCP "Sendero Luminoso" is a political party of the Marxist, Maoist left, which has declared war on the bourgeois government of Peru.
