On the Volcano. Dialogue in the Face of Subversion

The work begins by posing a series of questions, which are answered in broad and detailed fashion as the pages progress; these are: What does democracy offer to stop the onslaught? How do we reach minds invaded by resentment and frustration? How do we prevent the terrifying and blind alliance of the oppressed? How do we give a welcoming and paternal face to this democracy forced to defend itself tooth and nail? Many implicit questions in the political process that few dare look upon with indifference, much less with optimism. The political class, intellectuals, and the thinking elite begin to become aware of the subversive dynamic and to understand the silences and voids that shelter the full range of realities discovered step by step. Pandora's box releases genies and lesser spirits, evil spirits and others, along with a dense fog that disconcerts, clouds, or blinds. Faced with it are the politicians and society as a whole in their own domains, searching for something to offer beyond defensive and bloody repression or tranquilizing discourse.
