Andean Culture and Subversive Manifestations in Peru

The work summarizes the roundtable discussion held at the Universidad de Lima with specialists: Juan Biondi, Virgilio Roel, Fernando Silva Santisteban, José Tamayo, and Eduardo Zapata. Each of them offers, from their professional point of view, a critical analysis of the relationship between Andean culture and subversive manifestations in Peru. For the first time at the Universidad de Lima, the analysis of this problem was being raised in a systematic and epistemological manner — a problem that had been examined from many perspectives by many people with intensity, concern and conviction, but without the comprehensive, academic, multidisciplinary approach that the subject deserved. This roundtable discussion was initiated because of the particular significance for university students of a matter of these characteristics and dimensions — a matter on which the University as an institution has a duty to reflect and to help deepen the analysis.
