Terror, Blood, Death in the Andes: Uchuraccay Silent Witness
"Terror, sangre, muerte en los andes: Uchuraccay mudo testigo" is not a novel, nor is it a fantasy born from the hallucination of feverish or perhaps dreaming states; none of that — it is the name of this work, born inspired by events and actions that took place in the Andes of Peru, in the trapezoid formed by the desolate and frozen mountain ranges of Huanta, in whose depths so many mysteries are hidden and bonfires flare up and die out amidst the tempestuous voices of the mountains armed with thunder, lightning, bolts, rains, and hail. January 20, 1983, a fateful and tragic date, had to cause a tremendous standstill in the course of a day that will never be forgotten because the barbarism of the enemies of liberty, peace, and justice claimed the lives of 8 innocent journalists. The episodes of the criminal massacre teach, consequently, those who think about the need to love life and destiny, to meditate deeply on the gravity of the events and the responsibility of their perpetrators, who, in the shadow of impunity, dwell cocking their consciences without being able to find refuge from public vengeance and the rejection of history.
