Internal Displacements in Peru
The Ministerio de la Mujer y Poblaciones Vulnerables (MIMP), which is responsible for national population and internal migration policy and for the prevention, protection, and care of internally displaced persons and internal migrants, is pleased to present this study "Desplazamientos Internos en el Perú" carried out by the Organización Internacional para las Migraciones (OIM). We consider it a contribution to understanding the phenomenon of internal displacement in our country, a problem that has tended to intensify in recent years and that, nevertheless, has not been sufficiently made visible or researched — which is indispensable for designing an adequate response by the State, at its three levels, and by all actors involved.
