Power Relations and Political Violence in the Peasant Communities of Ayacucho

This thesis studies political violence in the peasant communities of Ayacucho, considering its impact on power relations among local power groups, peasant community members, and the state, as well as the relations of the peasant community with the State, before, during, and after the internal armed conflict. The research includes the role that various civil society organizations or institutions have played and continue to play in these power relations, such as political parties, the Catholic and Evangelical churches and indigenous beliefs, as well as Non-Governmental Organizations focused on development and human rights. Likewise, it considers the importance of the Comisión de la Verdad y Reconciliación report, mainly its impact and the process of implementing the report's recommendations.
