And After the Violence, What Remains? Victims, Citizens and Reparations in the Post-CVR Context in Peru

The objective of this research is to study the meaning of being or feeling like a victim in Peru after the internal armed conflict. More than a study on the condition of victimhood in post-Comisión de la Verdad y Reconciliación (CVR) Peru, what is presented here is an anthropological reflection on citizenship, memory, and the politics of recognition that stem from rural, peasant, and Andean victims of the internal armed conflict, and how these meet (or fail to meet) with public policies born from the State that should provide them with comprehensive reparations.
