Weaving Life. Story of Six Women from Ayacucho

The memories of the majority of Ayacuchan women remain silenced, and thus we lose the possibility of their experiences being known in their full dimension through the very words of those who lived them. With this recovery of the life stories of Ayacuchan women, we aim to allow those voices to be expressed, for their testimonies to spread and cross the borders of their communities. The text gathers the experiences of six Ayacuchan women from the provinces of Huanta and La Mar, who generously share episodes of their lives and their actions as leaders of their time. They tell us how they managed to rise in the midst of storms, winds, and storm clouds, between victories and defeats, and began to weave a new life; how they placed the pieces of this new era together, kneading peace with their actions, their hopes, and their example.
