Trial of Fujimori. Subjectivities, Denial and the Power Game
In the six interviews contained in this book, you will be able to read the opinions of psychologists who report on certain psychosocial aspects they observe in the trial of Alberto Fujimori, and who do so in their capacity as mental health professionals committed to the human rights cause. Viviana Valz Gen, Miryam Rivera, Carmen Aldana, Nélida Baca, Giannina Paredes, and Carlos Jibaja share in common their status as psychologists, but also their lack of neutrality. They are people marked by their experiences of service to individuals who directly suffered the full harshness of the internal armed conflict. They are professionals who, like Orwell, do not want and are troubled by "lies sounding truthful, and homicide respectable." This group of specialists, interviewed by Germán Vargas Farías, were present in the courtroom and were able to feel the closeness of all the participants in the trial. What they share in these conversations are their impressions, but also their convictions. If you agree or disagree with what each of them says, we encourage you to continue the discussion. Do so knowing what they say - it will help in your own reflection.
