One Year after the Truth and Reconciliation Commission
Upon the conclusion of the mandate of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in August 2003, the Defensoría del Pueblo initiated a process of monitoring and oversight of its main recommendations, given the importance of the problems stemming from political violence. The Defensoría del Pueblo notes that the immense legacy of the CVR has not yet received the necessary attention from public authorities. It has therefore decided to direct its greatest efforts toward consolidating the process of truth, justice, and reparation initiated by the CVR's work. "One Year After the Truth and Reconciliation Commission" is a text that accounts for the monitoring and follow-up work on the CVR's recommendations.
