RELATIVES OF POLICE OFFICERS MURDERED IN AUCAYACU
Grief-stricken relatives during the funeral of the four police officers who died in Aucayacu, Huánuco, on July 6, 1984, during a Shining Path attack. That year Sendero Luminoso seized the city on two occasions and murdered residents and local authorities. The State was forced to declare a state of emergency in the Alto Huallaga region.
