Sowing Hope: Local Reparation Experiences in Ayacucho, Huánuco, San Martín and Lima "2004-2007"

Following the presentation of the Final Report of the Truth Commission, the Asociación Paz y Esperanza decided to contribute to the reconciliation process through its ongoing work. As soon as the Final Report became known, PAZ implemented a program to monitor compliance with the report's recommendations, which it called "Democratization and Reconciliation in Peru," in four of the areas most affected by the internal armed conflict. Over the course of three years, through its decentralized offices in Ayacucho, Huánuco, San Martín, and Lima (San Juan de Lurigancho district). Of course, and thankfully, other organizations also did their part from their own areas of intervention and capacities. Part of our program approach is to accompany victims' and affected persons' organizations, which have begun to participate in political decision-making spaces, especially on the issue of reparations.
