ACCOMARCA MASSACRE, VILCASHUAMÁN, THE MORGUE

In the morgue of the Hospital Regional de Ayacucho, forensic doctors examine the body of one of the victims of the Accomarca massacre while a group of women looks on. On August 14, 1985, 24 soldiers entered that community in the province of Vilcashuamán, Ayacucho, and murdered 69 peasants. The patrol was commanded by Second Lieutenant EP Telmo Hurtado.
