Remains of a peasant murdered by members of Sendero Luminoso on July 2, 1991, in the town of Moho, province of Huancané, Puno. The Comisión de la Verdad y Reconciliación has estimated that 20 years of violence (1980–2000) left a total of 69,280 victims dead and disappeared; of these, 75% had Quechua as their mother tongue.
