In Uchuraccay, Jorge Sedano on his knees and Félix Gavilano with hands raised

In Uchuraccay, Jorge Sedano is on his knees while Félix Gavilano has his hands raised. They appear to be handing over their equipment to the peasants. Marcia Gavilán, wife of Fortunato Gavilán, the community's lieutenant governor, observes the events. She was later killed along with other witnesses. On January 26, 1983, peasants from Uchuraccay killed, in that Ayacuchan community, journalists Eduardo de la Piniella, Pedro Sánchez, and Félix Gavilán from El Diario de Marka; Jorge Luis Mendívil and Willy Retto from El Observador; Jorge Sedano from La República; Amador García from the magazine Oiga; and Octavio Infante from the newspaper Noticias de Ayacucho. Along with the journalists, guide Juan Argumedo García and Severino Morales Ccente, a local community member from Uchuraccay, were also killed.
