Body of Orurillo mayor Tomás Quispe Sayhua. On December 3, 1989, members of Sendero Luminoso raided Orurillo, Melgar, and killed four authorities, three community members, and a SETUP leader. Among the authorities was the Izquierda Unida mayor Tomás Quispe Sayhua, an important local leader recognized for his struggle for land.
