Woman and child survivors of the Umaro massacre

Women and children survivors of the Umaro massacre display photographs of their loved ones, murdered by members of the Armed Forces. On August 27, 1985, a military patrol detained a group of peasants from the communities of Umaro and Bellavista, located in the province of Vilcashuamán. The military personnel murdered a total of 59 peasants.
