Installation of counter-subversive base in Satipo

At the end of 1989, a counter-subversive base was installed at Km 4 of the marginal road in Satipo. This military installation had a significant impact on the dynamics of the conflict in the area, as it encouraged the reaction of the natives and settlers against the Shining Path PCP. The presence of this counter-subversive base marked a turning point in the territorial control that the PCP-SL had been developing in the region. As a consequence of this installation and the subsequent reaction of the population, it turned into intense violence with the razing of native communities and colonist villages in the area.
