Federación Textil Strike of 1986
In September 1986, the Federación Textil organized a significant strike in Peru, lasting 45 days and involving over 30,000 workers. La huelga de la Federación Textil ocurrió en septiembre de 1986 y duró 45 días, involucrando a más de 30,000 trabajadores. Los textiles reclamaban, sobre la base de la bonanza del sector, que les fuera devuelto el derecho a tener ingresos indexados. Un dirigente textil señaló que los obreros habían soportado salarios muy bajos durante la crisis, pero que ante la prosperidad empresarial actual, los empleadores se negaban a conceder beneficio alguno. Esta huelga fue la de mayor importancia en el sector privado durante ese período.
