Complaint of threats from Comando Rodrigo Franco against journalist Morales

Journalist Morales denounces threats from paramilitary groups three years before his murder

On August 8, 1988, journalist Luis Morales Ortega filed a complaint with the Superior Prosecutor's Office of Ayacucho for being a victim of threats by the paramilitary group 'Comando Democrático Rodrigo Franco' and a self-styled Anti-Terrorist Liberation Command. In his complaint, Morales indicated that he had been followed and that the paramilitaries practiced kidnapping prior to the disappearance of their victims. He requested immediate intervention by the authorities. Three years later, in 1991, he was assassinated.
