Extrajudicial Execution at Huamanga Hospital
In March 1982, members of the Peruvian security forces (FFPP) carried out extrajudicial executions of wounded members of the Shining Path (PCP-SL) at a hospital in Huamanga. This incident highlighted the severe human rights violations occurring during the internal conflict in Peru. The event drew attention to the need for the state to take responsibility for its actions and respond to the demands of the victims.
En marzo de 1982, integrantes de las Fuerzas Armadas perpetraron la ejecución extrajudicial de miembros del PCP-SL que se encontraban heridos en el hospital de Huamanga. Este caso de patente atrocidad fue inocultable y llamó la atención sobre la magnitud de la catástrofe que comenzaba a vivir el país. El incidente motivó que el movimiento de derechos humanos exigiera al Estado que se hiciera responsable de sus acciones y respondiera a las exigencias de las víctimas.
