Three people missing after detention and torture by sinchis from Capaya Base in Pucahuasi
On August 30, 1987, Sinchis from the Capaya Military Base entered the community of Pucahuasi and arrested Mercedes Gutiérrez, Antonio Tinco, Andrés Torres, an unidentified woman and another person from Sañayca. The Sinchis tortured them until they broke their hands and took them to the Capaya Base. Of the five people detained, only Andres Torres and one other person returned. Three remain missing: Mercedes Gutiérrez, Antonio Tinco and the unidentified woman.
