Murder of César López Silva in Lima
PCP-SL militants assassinated APRA leader Cesar Lopez Silva with three shots to the head in San Isidro, Lima.
Cesar Lopez Silva, national leader of APRA, was assassinated by militants of the Shining Path PCP when he was on his way home. The perpetrators, identified as 'Clara', 'Marcio' (Damian Huallpa Mollehuanca), 'Andres' (Carlos Hidalgo Marchan) and 'Rodolfo', intercepted him and shot him three times in the head. The attack was part of the fourth campaign of the Peruvian Popular Relief called 'To finish off the great leap of the III National Conference'. The perpetrators were never criminally punished.
