Car bomb in Trujillo

A car bomb exploded 200 meters from the Plaza de Armas in Trujillo moments before the arrival of President Alan Garcia Perez. The bombing was part of a wave of terrorist attacks in February 1987.

On February 22, 1987, a car bomb exploded in Trujillo two hundred meters from the Plaza de Armas. The attack occurred moments before the arrival of the President of the Republic Alan Garcia Perez to the area. This attack was part of a series of terrorist attacks that took place in those days, including another car bomb on February 20 in Lima during an aprista rally. The events took place in a context of intensifying political violence in the country.
