At least eight explosions rocked several parts of Lima on February 21, 1987. This attack was part of a series of terrorist attacks that took place during those days. On February 20, a car bomb exploded three or four blocks from a rally presided over by Alan Garcia Perez. On February 22, in Trujillo, another car bomb exploded two hundred meters from the Plaza de Armas, moments before the arrival of the President of the Republic. On February 23, an attempt was made to assassinate the Attorney General César Elejalde Estenssoro.
