Attacks on the villages of Totora and Usmayo

During the first half of 1986, a series of violent attacks took place in the province of La Convención. On May 10, there were attacks on the towns of Totora and Usmayo. These attacks were part of a wave of violence that included murders of peasants in different localities of the province. Days later, on May 16, 50 ronderos were killed in the Quimbiri area, evidencing the intensification of violent actions in the Apurimac river valley during this period.
