Attack on Macari community by ERPS Kunurana workers

Approximately 120 men, 15 to 20 women and 15 to 20 horsemen with helmets, painted faces and camouflage attacked the community of Macarí. The aggressors, who came from the Kunurana power plant, burned thatched huts, herded communal cattle and attacked the community members who were defending their livestock with stones. The villagers had to take refuge in the community hall, which was surrounded and bombarded with stones. The attack occurred in the context of land disputes between communities and associative companies.
