There was a second attack against the Macarí community by groups linked to the ERPS Kunurana. This attack was part of the escalation of violence related to territorial disputes between peasant communities and associative companies in the context of the agrarian restructuring process initiated in February 1986.
Approximately 120 men, 15 to 20 women and 15 to 20 horsemen with helmets, painted faces and camouflage attacked the community of Macarí.
