Collective assassination perpetrated by the PCP-Sendero Luminoso in the community of Irquis, Sivia, which resulted in the death of about 30 people on December 21, 1985.
On December 21, 1985, a collective murder took place in the community of Irquis, district of Sivia, perpetrated by the PCP-Sendero Luminoso. This event occurred in the context of the violence in the Apurimac River Valley, during the period when the Shining Path was in retreat in the face of the advance of the Armed Forces and the DECAS (Counter-Subversive Civil Defense). The attack resulted in the death of approximately 30 people. This was part of the Shining Path's strategy of attacking communities that did not align themselves with their political-military project.
