Meeting at Quimbiri airport
Massive meeting of the population of San Francisco called by the military at the Quimbiri airport, where Major "Vic" exhibited a captured hiker. This event was engraved in the memory of the villagers as part of the military campaign in the Apurimac River Valley.
On November 10, 1984, the military gathered the entire population of San Francisco at the Quimbiri airport. On the second floor of an adjoining house was Major "Vic" with a hooded person, obviously a captured hiker. This event marked a significant moment in the military presence in the Apurimac River Valley. The villagers remember that only twenty or thirty people arrived and the rest were dead, floating in the river at night. Major "Vic" or "Rick" had become a mythical character in the valley for leading the march of the villagers.
