Murder of 6 community members in Nuevo Paraíso

In September 1984, the PCP-Sendero Luminoso raided the town of Nuevo Paraíso. During this action, the subversives assassinated 6 community members and kidnapped 4 additional people. This event was part of the escalation of violence that characterized 1984 in the Apurimac River Valley, a period in which the Shining Path intensified its actions against the civilian population.
