Marine Corps kidnapped and tortured journalist Hugo Bustíos in Huanta for 34 days
On March 1, 1984, Hugo Bustíos was kidnapped by a group of Navy infantrymen who violently entered his home and kept him arbitrarily detained in the barracks in Huanta for 34 days, where he was tortured. Due to the protest of national journalists and Amnesty International, he regained his freedom and was hospitalized. Bustíos was correspondent of Caretas magazine in Huanta.
