Villagers detained and tortured in Casa de las Torturas, one castrated and disappeared in a river
A villager from the community of Accomarca was arrested in Vilcashuamán on February 28, 1984 by a lieutenant of the Armed Forces along with two men and three women. At the Asquipata barracks, the soldiers took their belongings, including their clothes, ponchos and hats. They were then taken to a place known as La Casa de las Torturas where more people were detained. His cousin Leonardo Palacios Quispe was wounded in the genitals or castrated, and after he was killed his body disappeared by throwing it into a river.
