Completion of judicial investigation of the Uchuraccay case

On February 17, 1984, the investigation of the ad hoc Instruction Court on the Uchuraccay massacre ended and the file was sent to the Superior Court of Ayacucho. Months later, in August, the Public Prosecutor's Office filed charges against seventeen peasants.

The investigation carried out by the ad hoc Court of Instruction ended on February 17, 1984, one year and one month after the events of the Uchuraccay massacre. The case file was transferred to the Superior Court of Justice of Ayacucho. Subsequently, on August 14, 1984, the Public Prosecutor's Office filed the indictment against the seventeen accused peasants, requesting a minimum sentence of 25 years in prison for the crime of multiple homicide. This stage marked the end of the investigation phase of the judicial process for the murder of eight journalists on January 26, 1983.
