Second wave of the I Campaign of the PCP-SL

Second phase of the First Military Campaign of the PCP-SL, which lasted from July to October 1983, characterized by an intensification of terrorist attacks in Lima and the interior of the country, including attacks on party premises and sabotage to the electrical infrastructure.

The second wave of the First Military Campaign of the Communist Party of Peru - Shining Path took place from July to October 1983. This phase was characterized by an intensification of terrorist attacks throughout the country, including actions against party premises and strategic infrastructure. On July 11, there was a terrorist attack against the central offices of Acción Popular, condemned by all the media and sectors of the country. On July 21, the Peruvian capital suffered the most serious power outage in its history. During this wave, the PCP-SL also attacked the Institute of Technical Research of Auquenidos in La Raya (Cuzco) on July 22 and decreed a strike in Ayacucho on July 25 and 26.
