It was charged with preparing a report on the events within one month. Fulfilling its mandate, in a special ceremony held at the Government Palace, the Commission delivered its report to President Fernando Belaunde at the beginning of March. The Commission made a visit to Uchuraccay on February 11, 1983, where it met with the villagers in a community assembly. None of the commissioners spoke Quechua and they were barely able to make this one visit, collecting statements from the villagers through translators.
