Publication of interviews in El Diario de Marka about the Uchuraccay massacre.

On January 31, 1983, El Diario de Marka published three interviews conducted by Luis Morales with Uchuraccay community members, presenting them as evidence of military responsibility in the massacre of journalists, although the testimonies did not mention the presence of Sinchis during the crime.

El Diario de Marka published three interviews conducted by Ayacucho journalist Luis Morales with Uchuraccay community members, presenting them as evidence of military culpability in the January 26 massacre of the eight journalists. The interviews included testimony from Saturnino Ayala and other community members about the incitement of the Sinchis days before the massacre. Although none of the interviews mentioned the presence of Sinchis on the day of the crime, the newspaper used them to hold the government responsible for what happened. The newspaper was particularly affected by the tragedy, as three of its reporters -Eduardo de la Piniella, Pedro Sánchez and Félix Gavilán- had died in the expedition.
