Arrival of journalists and family members in Ayacucho

A large group of journalists, parliamentarians and relatives of the murdered journalists arrived in Ayacucho in a plane chartered by the newspaper La República on the same day the bodies were exhumed.

On January 30, 1983, the day of the exhumation of the bodies of the journalists murdered in Uchuraccay, a large group of journalists, parliamentarians and relatives of the victims arrived in Ayacucho. The group traveled in a plane chartered by the newspaper La República. That same day, the examining magistrate of Huamanga, Dr. Hugo Molina, took cognizance of the case even though Uchuraccay was not in his jurisdiction. The judicial process was formally initiated on this date with the exhumation of the bodies.
