Confirmation of the massacre of journalists in Uchuraccay

On January 28, 1983, the massacre of eight journalists in Uchuraccay on January 26 was officially confirmed. The news generated great national and international impact, and the judicial process began with the exhumation of the corpses on January 30.

On January 28, 1983, the massacre of eight journalists that had occurred two days earlier in Uchuraccay was confirmed. The news was disseminated nationally and internationally, generating great commotion. On January 30, in a plane chartered by the newspaper La República, a large group of journalists, parliamentarians and relatives of the victims arrived in Ayacucho. That same day the bodies were exhumed by order of the investigating judge of Huamanga, Dr. Hugo Molina, thus initiating the judicial process.
