Community members sent to the Tambo Civil Guard Station
Community members Constantino Soto Aguilar and Mariano Ccunto were sent to the Tambo Civil Guard post on January 28, 1983 to report on the deaths of the journalists and the arrest of suspected members of Sendero Luminoso.
After the trials carried out in the Uchuraccay plaza against the imprisoned Iquichanos and the women relatives of the guide Juan Argumedo, the community members Constantino Soto Aguilar and Mariano Ccunto were sent to the Tambo Civil Guard post. Their mission was to inform the authorities about the deaths of the journalists and the arrest of the alleged members of the PCP-SL in Iquicha. This dispatch was part of the actions following the January 26 massacre, when the community members sought to report the events to the official authorities.
