Capture of Antonio Díaz Martínez
In December 1983, the Jefatura de la PIP in Huaraz, led by Colonel Héctor Jhon Caro, captured Antonio Díaz Martínez, a high-ranking member of the PCP-SL. This marked the first time a prominent figure of the PCP-SL was detained, as highlighted by the Minister of the Interior. Díaz Martínez would later die during the repression of the El Frontón prison riot in 1986.
En diciembre, DIRCOTE logró capturar a Antonio Díaz Martínez, dirigente del Partido Comunista Peruano-Sendero Luminoso desde sus inicios.
