SUTEP strike resulted in imprisonment of more than 500 teachers, 91 sent to El Sepa
On October 24, 1973, a national SUTEP strike was held. The repressive behavior of the government was evident: more than 500 teachers were imprisoned and 91 of them were sent to the penal colony of El Sepa. This repression occurred during the government of General EP Juan Velasco Alvarado.
