Assault on the Guardia Civil Post in Huayrapata
In September 1982, a group of Shining Path militants, including two women, attacked the Guardia Civil post in Huayrapata, La Convención, Cusco. The assault resulted in the death of one civil guard and injury to a corporal. The attackers, numbering around 35, seized weapons and ammunition during the raid.
Un grupo de senderistas, entre ellos dos mujeres, asaltó el puesto de la Guardia Civil de Huayrapata en La Convención, Cusco. El ataque resultó en la muerte de un guardia civil y el herimiento de un cabo. Aproximadamente 35 atacantes se apoderaron de metralletas, revólveres y municiones. Esta fue la primera acción subversiva producida en las cercanías de Lucmahuaycco, ocurrida en setiembre de 1982.
