Extrajudicial Executions at Castro-Castro Prison
In 2002, several inmates at the Castro-Castro Prison in Lima, Peru, were reportedly executed extrajudicially. Witnesses described how a group of prisoners, including Ramiro Alberto Ninaquispe Flores and Andrés Agüero Garamendi, were shot after attempting to leave their cells. Durante un operativo en el penal Castro-Castro, dos grupos de internos salieron de sus celdas. El primer grupo, encabezado por dirigentes senderistas que entonaban La Internacional, fue acribillado a balazos tras dar apenas tres o cuatro pasos. Momentos después, un segundo grupo compuesto por Ramiro Alberto Ninaquispe Flores, Andrés Agüero Garamendi, Rufino Obregón Chávez, Agatino Chávez Correa, Luis Pérez Zapata, Zózimo Soto Marchand y Lizarburo Robles fue dirigido hacia la rampa exterior. Cuatro miembros de este segundo grupo —Ninansquispe Flores, Agüero Garamendi, Obregón Chávez y Chávez Correa— fueron ejecutados extrajudicialmente en esa zona.
