Assassination and Retaliation in Huancayo
In 1987, a student affiliated with the Aprista party was assassinated by the militant group Sendero Luminoso in Huancayo. In retaliation, members of the Comando Rodrigo Franco executed several students from the Universidad del Centro, who were suspected of being involved in the assassination. These acts were characterized by arbitrary executions and subsequent intimidation of the victims' families, with investigations into these crimes being notably deficient.
En 1987, un estudiante aprista que trabajaba en Electrocentro fue asesinado por Sendero Luminoso en Huancayo. Posteriormente, integrantes del Comando Rodrigo Franco concurrieron a la Universidad del Centro para vengar su muerte, ejecutando arbitrariamente a varios estudiantes senderistas presuntos responsables. En estas ejecuciones participaron Chito Ríos y Jorge Huamán Alacute, entre otros. Los crímenes se caracterizaron por el secuestro de víctimas, ejecuciones en lugares solitarios, intimidación de familias e impunidad total.
